The science is also growing almost exponentially with omega-3s being linked to an ever increasing number of health conditions. Adam Ismail

Executive Director


Adam Ismail has served as the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3’s (GOED) first executive director for more than nine years and oversees all organizational development for new and existing members. Since being named executive director in March 2007, Mr. Ismail has led GOED to experience a seven-fold growth in its membership and budget, worked on the founding of an international learning consortium based at Purdue University, and spearheaded overturning a ban on fish oil imports in Europe.

William S. Harris, PhD

OmegaQuant Analytics, LLC

William Harris holds a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota. His research has focused on omega-3 fatty acids since 1980. He has been the principal investigator on 5 omega-3 related NIH grants. He has published over 200 papers on omega-3 fatty acids. In 2004, he co-developed with Clemens von Schacky, MD, the “Omega-3 Index", a blood test to assess EPA+DHA biostatus. He is currently the President of OmegaQuant Analytics, LLC (Sioux Falls, SD) which offers the test to researchers, healthcare providers and consumers. He is also a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Sanford School of Medicine, University of South Dakota.

Jonathan Clinthorne

Jonathan F. Clinthorne, PhD., is an ultra-endurance athlete who was awarded his PhD in Human Nutrition from Michigan State University. Clinthorne has served on numerous medical advisory boards and has been an author or coauthor on a number of research papers covering topics such as aging, caloric restriction, omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics, immune function, inflammation and human nutrition. When not working as the Manager of Scientific Affairs and Nutrition Education at Natural Grocers, you can find him running, climbing, or skiing in the mountains of Colorado.
