Apratim Chakravarty

Head of Product Distribution for Foreign Exchange, Credit and Rates Products for Europe and the Americas

Apratim Chakravarty is based in New York since June 2012, and is HSBC's Head of Product Distribution for Foreign Exchange, Credit and Rates products for Europe and the Americas . An important part of his role is to help global investors navigate the various structural issues required to access local markets in Asia, with particular emphasis on RMB internationalisation, and his team gives clients more convenient access to these markets in their timezones. Prior to this role, he was based in Jakarta as Head of Global Markets for HSBC Indonesia, where he was responsible for HSBC's Sales, Trading, Balance Sheet and Capital Markets businesses. He has been with HSBC since 1996, where he had worked in a variety of roles in HSBC India, the last of which was as Head of Corporate Sales and Structuring for HSBC India. He has a B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management.

Drew Douglas

Regional Head of Payments & Cash Management, North America

Drew Douglas is the Regional Head of Payments & Cash Management, North America, having recently taken up the position in September, 2014. Drew holds comprehensive responsibility for the full range of PCM business functions including Sales, Client Management, Business Management and Business Risk and Control Management. Additionally, Drew oversees PCM Product Strategy and Innovation in North America. Previously Drew was the Co-Head of HSBC Securities Services (HSS) and prior to this, was the Global Head of Custody with HSBC. Based in New York, Drew has worked with the HSBC Group for over 20 years, joining in 2004 through the acquisition of Bank of Bermuda.

Gerardo Mato

Gerardo Mato is Chairman of Global Banking - Americas at HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc (NYSE:HSBC), one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations. In his role, Mr. Mato leads client engagement for leading companies across the U.S., Canada and Latin America. He is based in New York City. Mr. Mato has more than 20 years of origination experience, acting as a strategic capital-raising advisor to governments and large-cap companies across the Americas region. He joined HSBC in 2002 from Merrill Lynch. Mato holds a degree from the Wharton School of Business and his education includes the Harvard Business School. He sits on the boards of both The Atlantic Council and the Council of the Americas.

Governor Jon M. Huntsman Jr.

U.S. Ambassador to China (2009-2011), Former Governor of Utah

9th United States Ambassador to China 2009-2011, began his career in public service as a staff assistant to President Ronald Reagan. He has since served four U.S. Presidents in critical roles around the world including Ambassador to Singapore, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Asia, U.S. Trade Ambassador and most recently U.S. Ambassador to China. Twice elected as Utah's Governor, Huntsman brought about strong economic reforms, tripled the states rainy day fund and helped bring unemployment rates to historic lows. During his tenure Utah was named the best managed state in America and best state in which to do business. Recognized by others for his service, Huntsman was elected as chairman of the Western Governors Association, serving 19 states throughout the region. Huntsman most recently ran as a candidate for the Republican Presidential nomination. He left the race in early 2012 following a third place finish in the New Hampshire primary. He currently serves as the chairman of the Atlantic Council and co-founder and honorary co-chair of No Labels, as well as serving on the boards of Ford Motor Company, Caterpillar Corporation, Chevron Corporation, Huntsman Corporation, the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania. In addition he serves as a distinguished fellow at the Brookings Institute, a trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a trustee of the Reagan Presidential Foundation, and chairman of The Huntsman Cancer Foundation. He has served as a visiting fellow at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as a distinguished lecturer at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. He is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania and has seven honorary doctorate degrees.

Helen Wong

Chief Executive for Greater China

Helen Wong, Group General Manager of HSBC Group, became Chief Executive for Greater China on 1 March 2015. She is also Deputy Chairman of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited (HSBC China), Director and Chairman of HSBC Global Asset Management (HK) Ltd. and HSBC Bank (Taiwan) Ltd., as well as Director on the Board of HSBC Bank Canada and a Supervisor of HSBC Jintrust Fund Management Company Limited. Ms Wong is the Chairman of Hong Kong Association of Banks since March 2015. She is also a member of Currency Board Sub-Committee of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee and Council Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Ms Wong is a member of the 12th Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, an International Advisor to the Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, an International Senior Economic Consultant for the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and a member of the First Innovative Development Committee of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Ms Wong is also a member of the Shanghai Chinese Overseas Friendship Association and a council member of Treasury Markets Association. Ms Wong graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1983 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences.

Julia Wang

Chief China Economist and Co-Head of Asia Economics

Julia Wang joined the Asian economics team in April 2014. Prior to that, she worked in the Asia FX strategy team as a member of HSBC’s 2012 graduate programme. She has a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University and a master’s degree in economics from University College London.

Michael Andeberhan

Michael Andeberhan, MSCI is an Executive Director and leads the index client coverage team managing relationships with institutional investment consultants in North America. Based in New York, Michael is a member of the Global Asset Owner and Consultant team and works directly with investment consulting firms to promote the adoption of MSCI indexes. Prior to joining MSCI in 2011, Mr. Andeberhan worked at two institutional investment consultants: Callan Associates and Wurts & Associates (now Verus Advisory). At both firms, he provided asset allocation, investment manager selection, performance monitoring and other consulting services for institutional clients including endowments, foundations and corporate/public retirement plans. Mr. Andeberhan holds a BA from Washington State University and an MS in Finance from the University of Utah.

Patrick J. Burke

Pat Burke is President and CEO of HSBC North America Holdings Inc., overseeing HSBC Bank USA, N.A., HSBC Markets (USA) Inc., and HSBC Finance Corporation, positions he assumed in November 2014. He also serves as an Executive Director of HSBC North America Holdings Inc., HSBC USA Inc., HSBC Bank USA, N.A., and HSBC Finance Corporation. Burke is also a Group General Manager of HSBC Holdings PLC. Prior to his current role, Burke served as President and CEO of HSBC Finance Corporation, where he is also Chairman of the Board. Burke began his career at HSBC in 1989, serving as Deputy Director, Mergers and Acquisitions and Vice President of Strategy and Development. He held various senior leadership positions with HFC Bank in the United Kingdom, HSBC Financial Corporation Canada, and HSBC Card and Retail Services. Burke also served as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for Card and Retail Services from 2010. He serves on the boards of The Clearing House, British American Business, and the Partnership for New York City; and he is a Member of the 30% Club in the United States. Burke received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University. He also earned a master’s degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Paul Baranello

Paul Baranello is an Executive Director of Treasury at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., where he oversees the management of the company’s capital markets, capital planning, foreign exchange strategy, cash operations, and investments. He works closely with the company’s international subsidiaries across the world on special projects to optimize the company’s financial strategy and banking structure, with a special focus on emerging markets. Prior to joining The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. in 2011, Mr. Baranello worked in the biotechnology and high-tech industries as both a Treasury professional as well as in financial planning and analysis. Mr. Baranello holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to joining The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. in 2011, Mr. Baranello worked in the biotechnology and high-tech industries as both a Treasury professional as well as in financial planning and analysis. Paul Mackel

Managing Director and Head of Global Emerging Markets FX Research

Paul Mackel leads HSBC's Global Emerging Markets FX research team from Hong Kong. The team, which ranks highly in investor surveys, is regarded for its comprehensive analysis of the macro drivers and FX policy behind EM currencies. Paul joined HSBC in June 2006 and has been a currency analyst since 2000. Prior to joining HSBC, he worked in similar roles for other financial institutions in London, covering major and Central European currencies. Paul is a contributor to HSBC's FX strategy publications and appears regularly in the media.
