PI Collaboratives Bonus Program: Improving and Sustaining Sepsis Outcomes
Returning Participant?
Even with treatment protocols and a high level of national focus, sepsis continues to be the leading cause of death in hospitals in the United States. Research shows that 80 percent of sepsis deaths could be prevented with rapid diagnosis and treatment. With this in mind, 70 member hospitals committed to improving their patient care joined the Vizient Early Recognition and Intervention for Sepsis Management Collaborative. This program will examine how collaborative participants reduced their total sepsis mortality rate and sustained achievements.
Learning objectives:
- Identify strategies to recognize sepsis and to rapidly initiate treatment
- Describe best practices for sustaining effective sepsis management
