Abstract:

Today's avionics applications face many challenges. From size, weight, and power (SWaP)-constraints, to mixed criticality requirements, low-latency data throughput, and complex certifications, applications must balance an array of factors while keeping efficiency, performance, and safety in check. The need for sensor fusion to enable enhanced cockpit capabilities such as advanced aircraft tracking, live video enhancement, and interactive panels requires an increase in processing capability over legacy systems, while packing a great deal of graphics and compute power into a space-constrained area. Applications such as those that aid in degraded visual environments face these challenges head on, with a need for enhanced visualization that is completely free of lagging data throughput or display rendering delays. This webcast featuring Abaco, CoreAVI and Presagis, will discuss the best practices for enabling effective sensor fusion capabilities in rugged, safety critical airborne applications.
