Bonnie Anderson

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Veracyte

Bonnie H. Anderson is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Veracyte. Ms. Anderson’s career spans over 30 years in regulated diagnostics and life science markets. She cofounded Veracyte in 2008 and served as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer until 2016, when she was also appointed Chairman of the Board. She led Veracyte’s initial public offering in 2013, has spearheaded commercialization of its market-leading products and is now overseeing the company’s global expansion using its own distributed instrument platform. Prior to Veracyte, Ms. Anderson provided strategic consulting services to venture capital firms and early-stage businesses following 18 years in leadership positions at Beckman Coulter. She serves on the boards of Bruker Corporation and the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), and is President of the Coalition for 21st Century Medicine. She previously served on the board of Castle Biosciences and is a trustee emeritus of the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences. Ms. Anderson graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Medical Technology and in 2012 was honored with a “Distinguished Alumni” award. She has received numerous awards for her industry leadership, including: the Wallace H. Coulter Award for Healthcare Innovation (2017); “Fiercest Women in Life Sciences” (FiercePharma 2017); “100 Most Creative People in Business” (Fast Company, 2015); “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” and “Bay Area’s Most Admired CEOs” (San Francisco Business Times, 2013 and 2014); and “Women of Influence” (Silicon Valley Business Journal, 2013). Under Ms. Anderson’s leadership, Veracyte has been named a “Top Workplace” by the Bay Area News Group, based solely on employee feedback, for seven consecutive years (2014-2020).

Giulia C. Kennedy, PhD

Chief Scientific and Medical Officer

Veracyte

Giulia C. Kennedy is Chief Scientific and Medical Officer for Veracyte. Since joining the genomic diagnostics company in 2008, Dr. Kennedy has overseen the development of seven commercialized genomic tests that help inform diagnosis and treatment decisions in cancer and other diseases. Through Dr. Kennedy’s scientific leadership, Veracyte pushes the boundaries of what is possible in genomic diagnostics, including through the use of RNA whole-transcriptome sequencing and machine learning to develop tests that answer specific clinical questions. Prior to Veracyte, Dr. Kennedy led the Genomics Collaborations and Genotyping Technology R&D groups at Affymetrix, Inc. Before that, she was a scientific leader for the colon cancer and breast cancer gene discovery efforts at Chiron Corporation, resulting in the identification of oncology markers for therapeutic drug development. Dr. Kennedy was previously a scientist at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where she implemented genomic and genetic approaches to uncover diabetes susceptibility genes. Dr. Kennedy serves on the board of directors for Astarte Medical, a privately held company that uses software and predictive analytics to improve preterm infant outcomes. She holds a PhD degree in biochemistry, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California at San Francisco in the Biochemistry Department and Hormone Research Institute. Dr. Kennedy has published more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and is a co-inventor on more than 25 patents.

Sonali Sethi, MD, FCCP, DAABIP

Associate Program Director for Procedural Training, Interventional Pulmonology

Sonali Sethi, MD is a pulmonologist at the Cleveland Clinic in the Pulmonary Medicine Department. She received her B.A. from the University of Rochester and her MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center followed by fellowships at St Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, NY and Cleveland Clinic in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology. Her specialties and interests are in lung cancers including lung metastasis, mediastinal tumors, pleural effusion, malignant and non-malignant tracheal diseases and lung transplantation airway complications.

Carla R. Lamb, MD, FACP, FCCP

Director of Interventional Pulmonology

at Beth Israel Lahey Health

Carla Lamb, MD is the Director of Interventional Pulmonology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA and an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. She received her MD from East Tennessee State University. She completed her residency at the Naval Medical Center proceeding with fellowships at the Lahey Clinic and Naval Medical Center. Her clinical interests and expertise include minimally invasive management of benign and malignant thoracic diseases, lung cancer screening, rigid bronchoscopy, thermal ablation, medical thoracoscopy, bronchial thermoplasty, lung volume reduction in copd, simulation procedural education and training.

Michael A. Bernstein, MD, FCCP

Associate Director for Pulmonary and Critical Care at Stamford Health

Michael Bernstein, MD is Associate Director for Pulmonary and Critical Care and Co-Clinical Director for the Lung Cancer Screening and Lung Nodule Program at Stamford Hospital. He received his B.A. and MD from Duke University and completed his residency and fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. In 2015, he won the Melville Magida Award from Fairfield Country Medical Society given to the top doctor under the age of 40. He is an active teacher in the Internal Medicine Residency at the Stamford Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in Stamford for Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His clinical interests include interventional pulmonology focused in bronchoscopy, lung cancer, pleural diseases and other procedures for the lung.
