Abstract:
The COBOL V6 compiler from IBM is powerful, offering both increased efficiency during program execution and new features that enhance Developer productivity. However, some users have difficulty migrating to this new compiler.
This zED Talks session will discuss potential issues in migrating to the new compiler. We’ll review those instances where migration isn’t possible (for example, where the source code was lost) and how the Developer can optimize this code. Also, we’ll give an overview on using IBM Automatic Binary Code Optimizer for z/OS®.
