Terry Chatman

Information Systems, Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District

Terry begun his career as a network technician for CustomPC, Inc. in 1999.  During his time there, Terry provided consultant services for various clients in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and up and down the west coast. With each environment came a new set of problems that required unique solutions which Terry would help to create.
At the beginning of 2007, Terry moved onto the Area Agency on Aging, which serves the Napa and Solano counties, becoming the Systems Administrator and maintaining all of their offices across multiple counties.  Terry also has acquired skills to help develop custom applications using a combination of HTML, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL.

In 2010, Terry became employed at the Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District, a company he also helped consult with in prior years. As a Systems Administrator at the Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District, Terry was introduced to VMware and virtualization for the first time.  Seeing what you could accomplish with VMware armed Terry with a new foundation of tools and he quickly absorbed all the knowledge he could to become an expert with VMware almost overnight.

As the District became more advanced and efficient with their technology, it became more mobile and required more things to be done on the go. Terry helped create the mobile device infrastructure at the District.  Terry performed research and tested multiple MDM platforms, finally choosing VMware AirWatch, in 2013, to deploy, track and secure access to the District's mobile device fleet.

In 2015, the District decided to virtualize their network and security infrastructure and deployed VMware NSX. This has empowered the District with a full suite of virtualized network products on the fly.

The combination of VMware's platforms has enabled Terry to provide the District with an efficient, secure and reliable IT solution.
