Abstract:

The State of the Chemical Industry and Where the Industrial Internet Can Help webinar will discuss the major trends that are shaping the chemical industry, what happened in 2016 and what the outlook is for 2017. GE Digital will exchange perspectives on how the industrial internet of things IIoT couples with these trends with the ultimate goal to identify those areas in which IIoT and the new digital technology & infrastructure can bring a positive spin and help chemical companies to improve their performance and overcome challenges.

 

In this webinar, we will share two unique perspectives. The first is GE's perspective. GE as a conglomerate of multiple technology business is transforming the company into digital industrial and is sharing this unique experience as well as the first achievements with the industrial world.

 

The other perspective is from Strategy& Germany (part of the PwC network). GE is proud to be joined by Holger Röder, Managing Director of Strategy& Germany (part of the PwC network), and Günther Reimann, Manager, Strategy& Germany (part of the PwC network) to gain insights on the outlook for 2017.

Holger Röder

Holger Röder is a long-time experienced practitioner in Strategic IT Management and Digital Transformation for Strategy&, PwCs strategy consulting business. He is Managing Director Strategy& Germany based in Frankfurt/Main. As a member of our global Digital & Technology practice he focuses on Process, Automotive and Manufacturing Industry clients in Europe. His areas of expertise include: CIO advisory, including business driven IT-strategy and IT-architecture development Digital-business model, strategy and transformation program design Design and management of IT Transformation Programs (e.g. Organization Design, Efficiency-Agility Improvement, Business-Alignment, Industrialization/Globalization of IT Services) Management of IT carve-outs and IT post-merger integration, IT due diligence Big-data architectures and roadmaps Some of his recent client assignments include: Digital business strategies and roadmaps for various chemical and automotive clients Transformation of the IT function for 2 large chemical players in EMEA IT strategy and IT transformation for a global automotive OEM IT cost reduction programs including global offshore and collocation delivery model for leading oil and chemical clients Implementation of 2-speed IT, Agile methods and Big-data labs, e.g. for a leading process industry client Holger holds a diploma degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt. Günther W. Reimann

Günther Reimann is management consultant in the area of technology strategy with experience in automotive, transportation, energy, and industry with focus on IT strategy, digital business models, innovation management, business processes and cyber security. In these areas, he has experience in strategy development as well as large scale program and project management. Prior to his work for Strategy&, Günther Reimann has worked in international projects at A.T. Kearney mainly in Europe. Beside that he also worked in the Middle East, supporting one of the largest projects in transportation int the area of the intelligent transportation system. Günther Reimann was also founder and CEO of a consultancy for IT and business process design, worked as project manager for international projects in academia and did research in production systems at the KIT Karlsruhe. He holds a diploma in Computer sciences from the University of Karlsruhe, a diploma in Engineering and a BSc. (hon) from his studies at DHBW Mosbach and Cardiff University.

Chris Moody

Chris Moody joins GE Digital after building and leading an award winning content and social team at Oracle Marketing Cloud. At GE Digital, Chris helps lead content marketing to educate and raise awareness of the power of the industrial internet of things (IIoT). Chris frequently speaks at leading marketing events and guest lectures at universities on effective marketing with limited budgets. He received his MBA from North Carolina State University, along with a BS in Business Management.
