Abstract:
Many organizations face various cooling problems in their data centers, server rooms or telecom/data closets. This can be caused by many factors; the most common is increased power loads as more IT equipment is added. In some cases, cooling system performance is simply at or near its capacity limit, and while it is able to support the heat load in cooler fall and winter temperatures, the system performance degrades in warmer summer weather, resulting in overheated or borderline IT equipment operating conditions.
In other cases, while the heat load may not have actually exceeded the cooling capacity, there are Hot-Spots which can be related to increased rack power density, as more IT equipment is upgraded, or most often, it is related to poor airflow management.
This webinar will look at these issues and reveal some no-cost or low-cost quick fixes for some problems, as well as examining when to consider installing supplemental or temporary cooling units.
Topics:
- Identifying the common causes of Hot-Spots
- Differentiating the cooling impact of higher Rack Density versus total Room Power
- Understanding the methods to improve airflow management
- Examining the options and requirements for implementing temporary cooling units
