Francis has unique experience in working along the entire nutrition value chain from a global manufacturer with a vitamin focused product portfolio to a national distributor with an extensive 200+ product portfolio. He has held various management positions within engineering, finance, sales, new product development and marketing functions.


While at BASF Corp., Francis had complete P&L responsibility for the North American vitamin C and vitamin B product portfolio. During this time he recognized that the commodity life cycle was gaining speed and profits and market share were being quickly eroded. Francis realized that there was an opportunity in these changing markets for new ingredient/product development. Seizing the opportunity in bringing new innovative nutritional ingredients to market Francis created Xsto in 2005. He was joined by his partner Dan Murray in 2006.


Xsto’s core focus and strength is to identify, develop and launch a small and select number of new nutritional products. These focused and targeted new product development opportunities give Xsto’s customers access to new clinically supported ingredients which drive sales along the entire chain.
