Jeff Bennion

Jeff Bennion is a trial attorney and solo practitioner in San Diego specializing in personal injury and business litigation. Jeff is the Chair of the California Lawyers Association’s Law Practice Management and Technology section and has been the Chair and Education Chair of the State Bar of California’s Law Practice Management and Technology Section. Jeff also serves on the Board of Directors of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, one of Southern California’s largest plaintiffs’ trial lawyers associations. In addition to his law practice, Jeff is also one of the columnists for the legal news website Above the Law, where he has a weekly column every Tuesday on legal technology with hints and tips for litigators to run their practice more efficiently.

Michelle Pfister

Michelle Pfister is Sr Product Manager for the Legal Market and Channel at Jive Communications. She has over 20 years experience with companies such as Microsoft,, and WordPerfect. At WordPerfect she set strategy—and lead product development—for Corel WordPerfect Legal Edition, whose first customer was the U.S. Dept of Justice. Michelle loves making great product solutions, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Michael Rapp

Michael Rapp's practice is focused solely on Consumer Protection cases. Typically, he brings cases against Credit Reporting Agencies, Banks, Credit Card companies and the occasional Debt Collector or shady car lot for doing things that they shouldn't. These cases include both individual and class, at State and Federal level. A bestselling author, Michael is currently serving as President of the Solo/Small Section of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and as Kansas State Chair for the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for the past 2 years for Kansas and Missouri, Michael frequently presents on the Fair Credit Reporting Act and topics surrounding Consumer Protection Law. Prior to graduating from UMKC School of Law, Michael served his country overseas, was decorated, and honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.

David Lat

David Lat is the founder and managing editor of Above the Law. His writing has also appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post, among other publications. Prior to ATL, he launched Underneath Their Robes, a blog about federal judges. Before entering the media world, David worked as a federal prosecutor in Newark, New Jersey; a litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, in New York; and a law clerk to Judge Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. David graduated from Harvard College and Yale Law School, where he served as an editor of the Yale Law Journal. David's first book, Supreme Ambitions: A Novel, was published in 2014 to rave reviews.
