Abstract:
Join this webinar to gain knowledge about ACGME-I faculty development resources and how best to use them in order to develop an effective Milestones 2.0 transition plan. To further aid participants in the transition to Milestones 2.0, practical tips and examples on how to develop an effective institutional faculty development program will be shared by an ACGME-I accredited institution.

Lorraine Lewis, EdD Executive Director, International Accreditation ACGME-I Dr. Lorraine Lewis is Executive Director at ACGME-I, a position she has held since 2014. She joined ACGME in 2011 as the Executive Director for the Review Committees for Anesthesiology, Preventive Medicine, and the Transitional Year. Before joining the ACGME, Dr. Lewis was manager of predoctoral dental education and international accreditation for the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Dr. Lewis earned an EdD in Higher Education Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota, where she conducted research on faculty attitudes and practices related to program evaluation.
Laura Edgar, EdD, CAE Senior Vice President, Competencies, Milestones, and Faculty Development ACGME Dr. Edgar is the Senior Vice President for ACGME. She provides leadership for the oversite, development, innovation, and maintenance of domestical and international competencies, Milestones program, and faculty development. She serves as an ACGME ambassador to and collaborator with internal (e.g., ACGME-I, global services, education, review committees) and external (e.g., program director groups, certification boards, medical specialty groups) stakeholders to advance the implementation of competencies, Milestones, faculty development, and other ACGME strategic initiatives.
Prior to working at ACGME, Dr. Edgar worked in the clinical laboratory for 10 years and then directed several domestic and international certification, accreditation, and scientific organizations. Dr. Edgar earned her doctorate in education, focusing on organizational leadership, after obtaining a Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences, and a Master's degree in business administration.
Rizwan Khan MBBS, FCPS, FRCS, FACS, MHPE Associate Dean, DIO The Aga Khan University Dr. Khan has served as the associate dean for postgraduate education at Aga Khan University since 2017. As the designated institutional official, he has provided dedicated leadership ultimately resulting in five residency programs achieving ACGME-I accreditation, including the first in Pakistan. Dr. Khan is a renowned hepatobiliary surgeon, serving as a full professor of surgery since 2020, and occupies the Kulsum Naurozali Rupsi Endowned Chair at his institution. He is the program director for the surgical oncology fellowship program and has more than 80 publications to his name.
