Damien Steel Managing Partner & Head of Ventures OMERS Ventures In his role as Managing Partner & Head of Ventures, Damien is accountable for investments and fund operations, while providing strategic oversight to the business globally. Damien joined OMERS Ventures in 2011, having been with the team since its inception that year. Under his leadership, OMERS Ventures expanded to include offices in London and Silicon Valley.
Damien has over 15 years of venture investing experience, including prior roles with BridgeScale Partners and EdgeStone Capital Partners. Before joining OMERS Ventures, Damien was an entrepreneur in the healthcare sector, having founded and exited a digital dental laboratory startup.
Damien also serves as a board member with current OMERS Ventures portfolio investments Hopper, TouchBistro, and Wave. He formerly led the investment in PasswordBox (acquired by Intel).
Damien is from Toronto, Canada and holds a business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a CA and a CFA charter holder. Damien is an avid golfer and poker player.
Mike Massoud Principal, Research, Guidance and Support CPA Canada Michael is a principal, Research, Guidance and Support at CPA Canada. His work focuses on the development of more comprehensive and transparent financial reporting in Canada and around the world. He leads several CPA Canada committees and task forces responsible for raising awareness of application issues of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in several of Canada's most prominent industries. br br
Prior to joining CPA Canada, Michael had several years of business experience in major organizations, including the Canadian Accounting Standards Board, Royal Bank of Canada, LCBO, and PwC. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Toronto.
Ideh Fesharaki, CPA, CA Ideh completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia,
articled with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and earned her Chartered Accountant designation from
the British Columbia Institute of Chartered Accountants. She continued her graduate studies at
Stanford University in Financial Engineering and is actively involved in finance and private
equity.
