 Clayton Sandy Knowledge Keeper Clayton Sandy, is a member of Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation in Southwestern Manitoba. Clayton is a respected elder, cultural advisor and community activist committed to educating the next generation about Indigenous Peoples. As a child and sibling of residential school survivors and one of the many children impacted by the Sixties Scoop, Clayton has a deep understanding of the history and resilience of Indigenous Peoples. Growing up in foster care, Clayton received services from social workers and later dedicated his career to social services, working at CFS during the time of devolution and providing foster care to children through an Indigenous agency for 12 years.
Clayton worked for the Government of Manitoba for 39 years and maintains his dedication to his community in his retirement. Clayton has had the opportunity to work from within and with Indigenous leadership and appreciates the difficulties and stresses faced by social workers.
 Barb Temmerman Barbara (Barb) Temmerman, MSW, RSW is Executive Director & Registrar of the Manitoba College of Social Workers (the College). Barb graduated from Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada with an Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1997 and a Master of Social Work in 1999. She was employed in the field of child welfare for 17 years prior to moving into social work regulation in 2014 as Associate Director of the College. Barb assumed the role of ED/Registrar in 2016 and serves on several committees including the Executive Committee of the Canadian Council of Social Work Regulators (CCSWR), the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice Committee and University of Manitoba’s Social Work Program Faculty Council.
 Jeff Eckstein Auditor Jeff Eckstein, CPA, CA, is a Partner in MNP’s Assurance Services team in Winnipeg, working with medium-to-large-size public and private companies and organizations in the not-for-profit and government sectors. Jeff also co-leads the real estate and construction niche for Manitoba. He delivers customized assurance and compliance services as well as strong business advice to help owners and management achieve their goals.
Jeff’s extensive experience includes audit and review engagements, financial reporting and ensuring that relevant regulatory compliance matters are addressed. He also assists with complex accounting issues and accounting standard interpretation with respect to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Canadian Not-for-Profit Accounting Standards and Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards.
Committed to developing strong working relationships with his clients and truly seeing things from their perspective, Jeff takes a personalized approach that generates results. He listens carefully to client concerns, obtaining a solid understanding of their issues and expectations so he can meet their needs with the most cost-effective solution. An excellent communicator, he helps clients identify, understand and implement changes related to accounting standards and regulatory changes.
Jeff was designated a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2006 after receiving a Bachelor of Administration (with Distinction) from the University of Regina. He is Chair of the Winnipeg Humane Society’s Board of Directors. Jeff is also a member of the United Way of Winnipeg’s Community Investment Committee and an active Agency Liaison Volunteer with the United Way of Winnipeg.
 Mary Heard MSW, RSW Mary Heard is a Registered Social Worker, has her Masters Degree in Social Work, is bilingual and is presently vice president of the Manitoba College of Social Workers (MCSW). She completed a term as a member of the MCSW Complaints Committee. Prior to the College being formed, Mary served on the Manitoba Institute of Registered Social Workers (MIRSW) Ethics Committee. She was a member of the transitional board for MCSW. She has a varied work experience including child welfare, mental health, long-term care and presently works in Southern Health-Santé Sud as the Regional Coordinator-Quality & Accreditation. Mary has earned her Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. She is a social work supervisor for University of Manitoba and St. Boniface.
 Adam Chrobak BSc, MLT MCSW Treasurer Adam Chrobak is currently the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer for the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry & Zoology from the University of Manitoba, a diploma in Cytology from Red River Community College and
Health Sciences Centre, and a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University. Additionally, Mr. Chrobak has completed diploma training in Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Assurance Planning and Management in Health Care. He has extensive continuing education and is a member of several professional associations related to his occupation. Adam Chrobak is presently the Vice-Chair and Treasurer of MIPS, was the past Chair of the Manitoba Alliance of Health Regulatory Colleges and has acquired significant knowledge with regard to professional regulation in Manitoba. Adam was previously a member of the Interim Transitional Board of the Manitoba College of Social Workers and currently serves as a public representative member of the MCSW Board.
