Since joining FoodLogiQ in 2015, Katy Jones has served as a thought leader within the food industry, providing insight and education on the importance of supplier management and traceability across the food supply chain. She has held various leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility at FoodLogiQ, including Vice President of Marketing, Chief Marketing Officer, and most recently, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer. In this position, Katy oversees all aspects of marketing and creates, communicates, executes, and sustains the strategic initiatives of the company’s cloud-based supplier transparency and traceability solution called FoodLogiQ Connect. Under Katy’s leadership, FoodLogiQ has consistently earned recognition and awards for innovation, performance and investor funding.
Katy holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in data marketing communications from West Virginia University. In addition to her membership in the Chief Marketing Officer Club, she is a 2017 recipient of the Triangle Business Journal C-Suite Award.
Julie McGill

Julie McGill is the Vice President of Supply Chain and Insights at FoodLogiQ, a leading SaaS provider of food safety compliance, traceability, and supply chain transparency solutions. Their solutions help foodservice and grocery trading partners achieve end-to-end traceability while supporting safe and high quality food products across the supply chain.
In her role, Julie works with FoodLogiQ leadership to advise on industry, customer, and product insights to improve market adoption and penetration, customer satisfaction and value generation. She supports FoodLogiQ teams on evolving industry activity including regulatory, standards, traceability and food safety.
Before joining the FoodLogiQ team in May of 2017, Julie spent over 16 years at GS1 US. She led the Foodservice GS1 US Standards Initiative, and managed the PCATS initiative with NACS, working with industry stakeholders in the convenience retail space. Prior to GS1 US, she worked for Transora, which was one of the first GDSN data pools (now 1WorldSync).
She also worked for Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado, supporting their Store Level Data program, engaging their distributor network to implement EDI with convenience and grocery retailers.
Julie serves as co-chair of the PTI Technology Workgroup and sits on other various industry groups covering topics from AIDC, food safety, traceability, transparency, and supply chain efficiencies.

Barbara VanRenterghem, Ph.D., is the editorial director of Food Safety Magazine, a position she has held since 2008. From 2005–2008, she was the chief editor of Controlled Environments Magazine and the science editor of Animal Lab News and Lab Manager Magazine at Vicon Publishing. At Eaton Publishing (1999–2005), she rose from the positions of assistant scientific editor for BioTechniques and acquisitions editor for BioTechniques Press to the editor of content development and acquisitions and director of commercial product development. While at Eaton (then acquired by Informa), she served as the chief editor of Preclinica. She received a B.Sc. in biology in 1989 from Bowling Green State University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1994 from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
