#healthandwellness, #better-for-you and #better-for-all (people and the planet) have become familiar trigger words in the bakery and snacks sectors. But what is behind the consumer preference towards more natural, more nutritious, function specific, climate-driven and environmentally friendly snacks? Bakery&Snacks has compiled a panel of influential voices to take a deep dive into consumer behaviour, market demand and what the two sectors need to do to stay ahead of the curve. Our Healthy Snacks webinar in 2022 garnered enormous interest, and we expect it to explode even further in 2023.

Sebastian has been the Director General of ESA since 2012, representing over 200 members from the manufacturing and supplying side as well as national trade associations in the European snacks industry. In his daily work he ensures that members’ interests are considered in the European policy-making process. His main objective is the further understanding and promotion of the savoury snacks sector through collaboration with EU institutions, NGOs and media. Sebastian also chairs FoodDrinkEurope’s (European FDF) Nutrition and Health Working Group, as well as the Food Taxation Taskforce.

Gill was previously editor of Food Review, the South African monthly food trade journal.
