Abstract:
Without water, the arid West would have remained a place of little interest to settlers from the East Coast. Once gold was discovered, city promoters knew that water would make Denver into a place that would last. Join Denver History Tours for a journey along one of the most famous of Denver's waterways, the historic High Line Canal. Pouring from the mountains in the southwest before finally struggling to a feeble demise near DIA, the High Line has many fascinating spots and tales, today one of the metro area's most beloved amenities. Few remember its beginnings as a working ditch, designed to promote agriculture and development. Let's dive into the High Line together!

Speakers
Kevin Snow Kevin Snow started his career as an ESL teacher. The last school he taught at worked with adult immigrants from more than seventy countries around the world. He began to show them around Denver, introducing them to their new homes, sharing his interest in history. When that school closed, he decided to continue as a tour guide, running Denver History Tours and now Treasure Box Tours. Today, Kevin leads tours around the metro area, the state and region, as well as two (so far!) trips out of the country. He may grow up one day, but for now there's too much fun to be had on the sidewalks (in person or electronically) of the city.
