Abstract:

ENR will discuss funding challenges and identify resources for water, wastewater and stormwater utilities in this time of water and climate extremes. During this webinar, we will look at available financial resources and discuss items such as best practices, and tools for pre-disaster mitigation, design adaptation, and infrastructure rebuild to make communities less vulnerable before, during and after extreme water events.

Speakers

Danusha Chandy

Senior Engineer
WIFIA Program

Danusha Chandy is a Senior Engineer in the WIFIA Program. Before joining EPA, she managed a variety of water infrastructure and environmental projects, mostly as a consultant, but also as an engineer for the City of Ithaca and the Boston Water and Sewer Commission.

She has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, and a Master’s in Public Management from Georgetown. She maintains PE licenses in New York State and the District of Columbia.

Tom Entsminger

State Programs Coordinator
Texas Water Development Board

As the Texas Water Development Board’s State Programs Coordinator, Tom is involved with the administration of several financing programs for water/wastewater infrastructure across Texas. Before joining TWDB he worked with the CDBG program at the Texas Department of Agriculture, with a focus on drought relief and Colonia funding.

Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas at El Paso, and served as a Grant Writer for the County of El Paso before moving to Austin to begin state service. In his free time, he enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, making music, cooking, and spending time with his dog Sonora.

Adam Kanold

Engineering Manager
Montecito Water District

Adam Kanold is a licensed civil engineer specializing in water, wastewater, and storm water utility design and construction. Mr. Kanold joined the Montecito Water District in 2016. Immediately prior, Mr. Kanold served for more than 12 years as a Civil Engineer for Tetra Tech, the top-ranked water consulting firm according to ENR (Engineering News-Record).

Mr. Kanold's project management, engineering and design experience spans water projects around the world, including locations throughout the United States and overseas in Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Korea, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Tanzania, and Kenya.

He is also the founder of the Santa Barbara / Ventura Engineers Without Borders chapter, which provides engineering solutions to developing countries around the world.
