SpeakersEvan Goldfisher, MD, MBA, CPI, FACS Premier Medical Group of the Hudson Valley PC Secretary, LUGPA Chair, LUGPA Program Committee Dr. Evan Goldfischer received his BA from Tufts University and his MD from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in Urology at the University of Chicago. He completed a fellowship in Endourology under the direction of Arthur Smith at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Goldfischer received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and is a Certified Physician Executive. He served as the co-founding CEO of Premier Medical Group of the Hudson Valley as well as founding Director of Research. He has written over 100 peer-reviewed abstracts and publications and has lectured on six continents. He was elected to the LUGPA Board of Directors in 2014. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Practice Management for Urology Groups: LUGPA’s Guidebook published in 2017, and is the author of Even Urologists Get Kidney Stones – A Guide to Prevention and Treatment, published in 2018.
Michael Fabrizio, MD, FACS Urology of Virginia Board of Directors, LUGPA Dr. Michael Fabrizio earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1992 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the College of William and Mary in 1988. He completed his residencies in surgery and urology at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Fabrizio was awarded a fellowship in endourology and laparoscopic surgery at The Johns Hopkins University, Brady Urological Institute in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Fabrizio was involved in the FDA trials for the Zeus Robotic system and an early adopter of robotic surgery. He has done extensive research in telemedicine and telesurgery.
Dr. Fabrizio specializes in urological laparoscopy for benign and malignant conditions including prostate and kidney cancer, adrenal surgery, kidney donation and complex kidney and ureteral stone surgery.
With the support of his partners, he created the laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and robotic assisted prostatectomy program as well as the laparoscopic kidney donor program in Norfolk, VA. He also started a training fellowship in endourology and laparoscopy in 2003 which has received national recognition in Quality of Life Outcomes research for prostate cancer treatments. The fellowship has won awards for publications and been cited by USA Today and Reuters News. He has published many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as lectured around the world on topics in endourology and outcomes. Local and National media recognized Dr. Fabrizio among other transplant surgeons for performing a national kidney swap where numerous patients donated kidneys to recipients around the country.
Hampton Roads magazine has recognized him as a Top Doc multiple times (most recently in 2016), and he is listed among America’s Top Docs in Castle and Connolly Top Docs recognition. Dr. Fabrizio notes that he is 'proud to be associated with a urology practice that offers specialty care in all areas of our field. We have assembled one of the best trained faculty in the country, and our practice offers not only outstanding clinical care but access to ground breaking clinical trials and the most up to date surgical techniques'. He served as the Managing Partner-President and CEO from 2007-2019. The practice has had significant growth during that time (10-15% year to year). In 2017, the Virginia Pilot named Urology of Virginia a “Roaring 20” business, the top 20 businesses by growth in Hampton Roads. Dr. Fabrizio negotiated several real estate transactions for Urology of Virginia including acquiring and building over 100,000 sq. ft. of office space successfully negotiating leases with an independent hospital system and imaging center. He has also been integral in creating several private venture opportunities for his partners, management agreements, and joint venture opportunities with health systems. Finally, he is the co-founder of The Atlantic Clinic, which is a medical tourism and healthcare provider in the British Virgin Islands.
Dr. Fabrizio is board certified by the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of The American Urological Association, Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association, Endourology Society, and the Society of Urologic Oncology. In addition to being the Chief Executive Officer of the practice and the endourology fellowship director, he is the President-elect of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association and on the board of LUGPA (Large Urology Group Practice Association). He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, traveling, skiing and anything outdoors.
Jon Allen Alphatech Spine EVP, Commercial Operations Jon Allen has held numerous sales leadership and sales operations positions in spine and orthopedics over his 27-year career in medical devices, including most recently Vice President, Healthcare Economics and Reimbursement, at Wright Medical where he had oversight responsibilities for corporate accounts, product positioning, and value creation. Prior to joining Wright Medical, Mr. Allen held senior executive leadership positions with Tornier starting as Vice President, Sales Operations, and serving on Tornier's executive committee. Nancy Clark EisnerAmper Senior Manager, Health Care Consulting Group Nancy Clark is a Senior Manager in the EisnerAmper Health Care Services Group. Her expertise focuses on coding and documentation audits, which includes chart review and report compilation. Nancy has over 25 years of experience, which includes health care consulting, medical coding and billing, accounting and business management.
Nancy specializes in providing coding education for providers and their staff, incorporating clinical documentation improvement strategies. She also serves as an authority, and interprets and reports data for health care litigation clients. Additionally, Nancy optimizes revenue cycle management operations and works with data analytics.
Prior to joining the firm, Nancy served as Director of a health care business resource company. She has been recognized as a Fellow by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and has served as an officer on the AAPC National Advisory Board. As an AAPC Approved Instructor, she has taught medical coding and billing to students in preparation for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination. Joseph Kuntze, MD Urology Associates of the Central Coast Dr. Joe Kuntze is the founder of Urology Associates of the Central Coast, an original LUGPA group and an innovative medium size practice. Dr. Kuntze has served as Chief of Surgery at 3 hospitals and Chief of Staff twice as well as President of the California Urologic Association. His interests include development of new lines and business and cost effective office management.
Dr. Kuntze’s outside interests include sports activity, western equestrian events and restoration and maintenance of vintage cars. He is married 48 years and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Kuntze resides on his ranch in Paso Robles, California.
Scott Sellinger, MD, FACS Advanced Urology Institute, LLC Board of Directors, LUGPA Dr. Scott Sellinger has been a partner at Southeastern Urological Center, now a division of Advanced Urology Institute, since 1991. He received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Syracuse University, and attended Medical School at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed his Urology residency at the University of Florida and has lived in Tallahassee for the past 29 years. He was President of the Capital Medical Society in 2003, and served as President of the Florida Urological Society in 2005. In March 2018, he became President of the Southeastern Section of the AUA, where he served a one-year term. He is currently serving as President of the American Association of Clinical Urologists (AACU). Dr. Sellinger has developed a special interest in risk management and prevention of medical errors and has lectured extensively on this subject matter over the past several years. He is also interested in large group practice development and management. As President of Advanced Urology Institute (AUI) Tallahassee Division, he serves on the Board of AUI, representing his care center in one of the largest independent urology practices in the US. He is Chairman of the Advanced Prostate Cancer (APC) Committee and oversees six APC clinics. Since 2015, Dr. Sellinger has served on the LUGPA Board of Directors, where he helps represent over 2300 Urologists by working to preserve and advance the independent practice of urology.
Jennifer Eckerman, PA Urology Associates of the Central Coast Jennifer Eckerman is a nationally certified Physician Assistant and Clinical Research Coordinator who has worked at Urology Associates of the Central Coast for 17 years.
She is the Lead PA, Research Coordinator active in clinical research, Cerner lead and MIPS coordinator.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a Voice Minor at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo.
She went on to George Washington University for a Masters in Physician Assistant and a Masters in Public Health.
She is a member of the AUA, AAPA, CAPA, ACRP and San Luis Obispo local PA chapter
She lives in the Central Coast of California with her family where they enjoy spending time together hiking, overlanding, camping, traveling locally/internationally, cycling, swimming, spending time on the coast and in the Sierras.
Dave Carpenter Minnesota Urology Treasurer, LUGPA Mr. Dave Carpenter is the Chief Executive Officer of Minnesota Urology, the largest independent urology medical group in the upper Midwest. As a current member of the Board of Directors of LUGPA, Mr. Carpenter is privileged to offer his experience as a medical administrator and business leader.
Before Minnesota Urology, Mr. Carpenter spent nine years as the Chief Executive Officer of Physicians Neck and Back Clinics (PNBC), a Minnesota-based medical practice specializing in the non-operative treatment of chronic spinal disorders. Before PNBC, Mr. Carpenter was a company co-founder and Vice President of Prevention First, Inc., a healthcare solutions company offering programs to reduce workers’ compensation costs associated with back and upper extremity injuries.
Mr. Carpenter spent eight years as a faculty member at the University of Florida College of Medicine. During his tenure at UF, Mr. Carpenter worked closely with the late Michael Pollock, PhD, and Arthur Jones, founder of Nautilus and MedX exercise/rehabilitation equipment, to develop international programs for the prevention and rehabilitation of chronic spinal disease. He has lectured and taught throughout the world in the area of resistance training and active spinal exercise rehabilitation and has authored and co-authored more than 50 scientific articles.
Mr. Carpenter holds a Masters degree in Exercise Science from the University of Florida, and is a certified facilitator of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. He and his wife Jenifer have a 27 year old twin daughter (Chloe) and son (Hudson). Mr. Carpenter enjoys golf, woodworking, relaxing in his hand-built tree house overlooking the St. Croix River and caddying for his son.
Gordon A. Brown, DO New Jersey Urology, LLC Board certified by the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Gordon Brown completed a urologic oncology fellowship at the UTMD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He specializes in the treatment of prostate cancer and serves as Director of Delaware Valley Urology’s Center for Advanced Therapeutics and Program Director of Urologic Surgery at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Brown has been practicing urology over ten years.
