AVAILABLE ON DEMAND
Duration:60 minutes
Abstract:
As the world’s demand for plant oils and protein continues to increase and outstrip production at an unprecedented pace, yield alone will no longer be sufficient to sustainably meet that demand, innovation to increase protein levels in plants and develop alt proteins is required. This online webinar will look at developments in the US in that respect; we will also hear about the outcome of a UK/EU project that explored the taking of excess waste nutrients produced from anaerobic digestion of food and farm waste to cultivate algal biomass rich in protein for animal feed, and we will track supply and demand fundamentals of conventional and novel feed proteins.
