Denver Botanic Gardens
Born and raised on a farm in the hills of eastern Kentucky, I started gardening with my grandparents at the age of five. I put myself through the University of Kentucky by starting an interior plant design company, which I sold the day after graduation. I then took a job flying for a prominent airline, which enabled me to travel all around the world and visit botanical interests in more than 100 countries. After retiring from the airlines, I took a job maintaining and landscaping the Embarcadero in San Francisco for several years until moving to Denver. I have worked at Denver Botanic Gardens for 21 years.
