Jude Chiemeka Divisional Head, Trading Business Nigerian Exchange Limited Mr. Chiemeka has over twenty-six (26) years of professional experience in Securities Trading and Asset Management across markets in Africa. He joined The Nigerian Exchange Limited as Divisional Head of Trading Business in February, 2019. He joined the Exchange from United Capital Securities Limited a subsidiary of United Capital Plc.
At United Capital Securities where was the MD/CEO, he championed the first cross broader trading under the West African Capital Market Integration initiative. He was previously MD/CEO of United Capital Asset Management Ltd where he was responsible for Strategy, Market penetration, Product development and Client Management. He also championed the issuance and listing of the First Eurobonds Mutual Fund ($10M) listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited and Wealth for Women Mutual Fund. Before joining United Capital Plc, He was the CEO/MD of Chapel Hill Denham Securities where he was responsible for Strategy, Leadership, Product development and Customer relationship management. He led the firm to rank among the Top 10 brokerage firms responsible for over 70% of market trades with 4% market share. Prior to that, he was the CEO/MD of Rencap Securities (Nigeria) Limited a fully owned subsidiary of Renaissance Capital Plc. At Rencap Securities he was responsible for Customer relationship management, Trading, Management reports, Budgets and clients acquisition.
Prior to joining Rencap in 2008, he was the Head of Securities Trading at Afrinvest West Africa Ltd where he responsible for Fixed Income and Equities Transactions across African markets for 2 International and domestic institutional clients. He was also involved in several landmark transactions including the first Global Depository Receipts (GDR) transaction on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited, Nigerian International Debt Fund, Reverse GDR trades etc. Prior to this, he was with Dominion Trust Limited where he started his career in 1994. He is a Fellow and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS), Member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), Fellow of Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers and Associate of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria.
He completed the Oxford Business School Advanced Management Program (AMP) in 2007, Master in International Law and Diplomacy in 2004 from the University of Lagos and the Lagos Business School Senior Management Programme in 2001. He has a BSc. degree from the University of Lagos in 1992.
Chidinma Chukwueke Okolo Ag. Head, Secondary Markets Nigerian Exchange Limited Chidinma Chukwueke Okolo is a seasoned Finance and investment professional with over 15 years of Capital Market experience cutting across Sales, Retail Investment, Client Relationship Management, Equity Derivatives, Asset Management, and Cross selling as well as Business development, Strategic planning and Leadership.
She is currently the Ag. Head of Secondary Markets at The Nigerian Exchange Limited, working in strong partnership with Financial Advisers and Relationship Managers to provide comprehensive financial advice and solutions that enable clients meet their financial objectives and utilize the full breadth of The Exchange’s product platforms.
She started her career in Lehman Brothers London on the graduate program and became a Senior Analyst in Equity Derivatives. She later joined JP Morgan Chase as an Associate in the Proprietary Positioning Business, the high value internal hedge fund business with aggressive growth and identified and capitalized on opportunities across a broad range of asset classes, instruments, and products.
Post her MBA, she joined Kaizen Venture Partners, a Private Equity firm focused on the distressed asset market in sub Saharan Africa, where she worked as an Investment Associate. She later joined Chapel Hill Denham Securities where she led the sales effort to Institutional clients.
Chidinma joined United Capital in 2013, where she led the Sales team in the Securities Trading Business, and then became a Fund Manager in the Asset Management Business, leading a team in formulating and implementing investment strategies and allocating assets to meet the investment objectives of institutional and private clients. She joined the Exchange from ValuAlliance Asset Management Limited, where she was responsible for the Wealth Management Business.
Chidinma currently holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and an MBA from Imperial College Business School. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment UK (Securities and International Wealth Management), an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and an Authorized Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Exchange.
Ugochi Obi Head of X-Academy Nigerian Exchange Limited Ugochi is a focused and experienced Learning & Development Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the L&D space, business and relationship building. She also has over 14 years of experience in exceptional customer relationship & experience management capabilities, managing training academies, talent capacity building, facilitation, and e-learning for large global companies.
Apart from being a highly trained Client Experience Management professional, adept at cultivating, managing and leveraging client relationships, in-depth knowledge of managing learning via classroom or e-learning, she is also a certified anti-corruption compliance trainer and member of several professional bodies, both local and international.
She is known for her ability to transform ideas into action, drive performance improvement, identify opportunities, and develop strategies and solutions directly linked to organizational and business goals and success.
Ugochi is currently the Head, X-Academy for The Nigerian Exchange Limited, with the obligation to ensure education of the public and Capital Market operators on capital market and financial affairs.
She holds a Masters in Computing from the London Metropolitan University. Member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD), Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) UK, Client Experience Professional Association (CXPA), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Learning & Development International (LDNI).
She truly enjoys playing Sudoku, chess, and puzzles and finds time to watch game shows and comedies.
Ade Cordell President, Cboe NL Cboe Netherlands Ade Cordell is President, Cboe NL, for Cboe Europe, the European division of Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (Cboe). In this role, Cordell oversees Cboe's Netherlands-based exchange, which launched in October 2019 in preparation for Brexit and is the future home of Cboe Europe Derivatives. Prior to becoming President, Cboe NL, in July 2020, he was Head of Business Development at Cboe Europe, leading the company’s expansion into European derivatives.
Cordell has more than 25 years of financial markets experience, working for leading derivatives exchanges and investment banks throughout his career. Previously, Cordell was the Global Head of Equity Derivatives at the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), where he led the firm’s client-facing equity derivatives business development and product teams in London, New York and Chicago. He has also held roles with Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse, working in London, New York and Hong Kong.
Cordell holds an MBA in electronic business from Cass Business School, City, University of London, and a Master of Science in international strategy and diplomacy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Andy Lowenthal SVP, Global Expansion Cboe Andrew B. Lowenthal is Senior Vice President, Business Development and Global Expansion for Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (Cboe). Based in Chicago, Lowenthal leads Cboe in identifying domestic and international business and expansion opportunities. Lowenthal spearheads the company’s initiative to establish a global expansion roadmap, while strategically leveraging Cboe’s existing partnerships to define markets worldwide.
Previously, Lowenthal co-led the sales, product development and competitive strategy for the company’s U.S. equities, futures, options and global foreign exchange businesses, its suite of market data and access services products, as well as the firm’s growing ETP listings business.
Prior to this role, Lowenthal led Cboe’s Global Derivatives group, which included the exchange operator’s four options exchanges, Cboe Futures Exchange (CFE), and products related to the Cboe Volatility Index (VIX). He led the Global Client Services group, which focused on business development and account management across all channels and in all geographies, and directed Cboe’s Business Analysis and Institutional and International Business Development groups.
He began his career with Cboe in 1983, serving in Trading Operation, Regulatory Services, Strategic Planning and Business Development division roles.
Lowenthal attended the University of Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Science in business and an MBA in Operations Planning from the DePaul University School of Business. He also attended the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is actively involved with the United Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center while serving on the Board of Rennaissance Social Services in Chicago.
