Abstract:

Developed under the auspices of PICMG, this new specification pushes the performance level for Computer-on-Modules (COMs) to levels not before seen. In this panel session, we will go through what’s actually in the new spec, and how you can make it work for you.

Stefan Milnor

Stefan has worked for Kontron and predecessor / acquired companies (Jumptec / Adastra) since 1993. Stefan has held various engineering positions over the years, including Design Engineer, Engineering Manager, VP Engineering and, currently, System Architect. Stefan was the Editor and author of the original COM Express specification in 2004 / 2005. Since then, Stefan has been a technical contributor and Secretary to COM Express revision efforts. Stefan had a major role in the COM Express and SMARC Design Guides, and was the author / Editor of the original SMARC specification. Stefan is currently the PICMG Editor for the new COM-HPC standard. Stefan has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of California, San Diego, awarded in 1977, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, from the University of California, Los Angeles, awarded in 1985. Stefan is based in Kontron’s Fremont, California office.
