Speakers
Sandy Pound VP and CCO Thermo Fisher Sandy joined Thermo Fisher on October 1, 2020, as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, with responsibility for the Corporate Communications and Investor Relations functions.
She previously spent 14 years with Johnson & Johnson (J&J), most recently serving as Vice President, Communication and Public Affairs for J&J Medical Devices Companies. Before that, Sandy held the same role within J&J Consumer, Inc. In both roles, Sandy set the communication and public affairs strategy for a broad portfolio of world-class brands. Throughout her career with J&J, she helped the company strengthen its industry leadership and enhance its reputation with all stakeholders, including employees, customers, the media and investors. Prior to J&J, Sandy worked in both corporate and agency settings managing public relations, crisis communications, media relations and employee engagement.
Sandy earned a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Douglas College at Rutgers University.
Eva Stroynowski VP, Public Affairs Alkermes Eva Stroynowski was named vice president of Public Affairs at Alkermes in 2019. In this role, Ms. Stroynowski leads the global communications function, with responsibility for corporate brand and reputation; product, internal, and R&D communications; patient engagement; media relations; corporate social responsibility; and corporate events.
Ms. Stroynowski has more than 15 years of public health and pharmaceutical communications experience leveraging her background to elevate the voice of the patient and increase scientific understanding. Since joining Alkermes in 2007, Ms. Stroynowski has held a number of leadership roles within Alkermes, including serving as Co-Head of Investor Relations from 2015 to 2018, and earlier in a variety of communications roles spanning internal communications, corporate brand management, partner relations management and scientific communications.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Stroynowski worked in public health communications as part of The Medical Foundation in Boston. She also spent several years as a clinical researcher at Harvard Medical School, studying neurophysiology and memory consolidation in patients living with schizophrenia. Ms. Stroynowski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from Carnegie Mellon University and a Masters of Public Health from Tufts Medical University.
Kristie Kuhl Managing Partner Finn Partners Kristie Kuhl, J.D., managing partner, is head of New York Health, Chicago Health and US health product communications for Finn Partners. PRovoke named Finn Partners Healthcare Agency of the Year for 2018, finalist for Global Healthcare Agency of the Year in 2020, and while at Makovsky, it was named Healthcare Agency of the Year for 2014. She was honored as a Top Woman in PR in 2020.
Her legal and communications skills provide keen insight in bringing together communities with diverse interests and creating focus on one patient-driven goal. Clients have tapped her to lead numerous agency brand communications efforts.
Kristie was named a Top Woman in PR by PRNews in 2020, a “Rising Star” in 2002 by the Healthcare Business Women’s Association, and a PR Team Leader Finalist and Honorable Mention in the 2009 PR News PR People of the Year. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut, where she was the recipient of the school’s highest honor, the Dean’s Award.
