SUMMARY & LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
BDO delivers the International Association of Privacy Professionals (‘IAPP’) Certified Information Privacy Technology (‘CIPT’) training course over two days. The combination of privacy and technology is a must-have for organizations of all sizes and jurisdictions. The cost of fines for companies that do not implement a comprehensive Data Protection by Design and by Default program outweigh the cost of building the program. This course explores foundational elements for embedding privacy in systems, applications, and processes and provides a privacy technologist the ability to identify risks, understand privacy-enhancing technologies, as well as uncovering the role of the Privacy Engineer. This course is one step in preparing for the CIPT exam and provides you with examples of how organizations around the world manage privacy and data protection programs. In completing this program, participants will successfully be able to:
- Recognize foundational elements for embedding privacy in technology
- Describe the fundamentals of privacy as they relate to the privacy technologist
- Identify the risks to privacy that are inherent throughout the data life cycle
- Explain how software security helps to mitigate privacy risks
- Outline how technical measures and privacy-enhancing technologies may be used to enhance privacy throughout all steps of the data life cycle
