Eran holds a PhD (2006) in microbiology and an MBA specialized in life science initiatives (2014). Eran started his professional experience as a Researcher at the Israel Institute for Biology Research (IIBR) - leading a classified project (2006-2009). At 2010 he joined Maya Ofakim Group (MOG), ending up doing different roles, starting as head of the microbiology lab at Bactochem - an analytical lab dedicated to the food, pharma and cosmetics industry. The lab is one of the leading labs in Israel composed of 14 technicians under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and the Standard Israel Institution. At MOG he was promoted to head of R&D at chemical plant Amgal, where he oversaw the development of new products from lab scale to mass production. NPD and production support gave Eran experience in scaling up and business development skills. A few projects undertaken in AMGAL were fermentation and bio-conversion, which gave the foundations to the later invention of Better Juice. Later, Eran progressed to be VP at Hadarom foods industries, responsible for logistics, quality, import, export, regulation, R&D and PR. Since 2017, he is the CEO and founder of Better Juice - a start-up company with a unique sugar reduction solution for naturally occurring sugary products, like juices.

Safe Food Advocacy Europe (SAFE)

Ms Cimmarusti is an international lawyer with 20 years of work experience gained in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland. After graduating in Law, she obtained a Master in Law, Economy and Politics of the European Union from the European College of Parma and graduated with a Master in Laws LLM at the University of Geneva. She worked for a European law firm in Brussels and for a multinational company and a Swiss bank, gaining experience as a lobbyist in the European banking and financial sector. Since 2015, she has covered the role as Secretary General of Safe Food Advocacy Europe, a European organization present in 11 Member States and representing more than two million consumers. Ms Cimmarusti oversees SAFE’s advocacy campaigns to promote safer and more understandable EU food legislation for consumers and represents the organization in the most important stakeholders groups in Brussels.

John has over 20 years’ experience in the food industry, across a variety of roles encompassing R&D, innovation and marketing. He also leads the Weetabix Food Company Sustainability Steering Group as the company looks to continuously strengthen its approach towards sustainability, under the pillars of sustainable ingredients, low-impact packaging, efficient operations and health & wellbeing. John is tasked with driving innovation, quality and capability for the Weetabix Food Company. This includes a focus on creating supply chain efficiencies to ensure the Weetabix Food Company portfolio, including the UK’s number one cereal Weetabix, can continue to grow sales for customers and delight consumers.
