Striving for Equity: The Role of Data Providers in the Fairness Debates in Life Insurance

Start Date:3/29/2023

Start Time:1:00 PM CDT

Duration:45 minutes

Abstract:

Credit-based insurance scores (CBIS) have had a positive impact in insurance markets, but at the same time some have argued that use of CBIS raises questions about fairness and equity. Consumer reporting agencies and insurers can play a role in ensuring continued use of CBIS is fair and equitable. In this webinar, TransUnion’s Jeff Reynolds will review an analysis that addresses questions of correlation and proxy effect between CBIS and race/ethnicity. This analysis provides valuable insights as the industry moves towards integrating fairness testing standards.
