Abstract:

Attend to see the latest data on falls, slips, and trips in the construction industry, including trends by year, subsector, and injury characteristics. We will review several interactive data dashboards CPWR has developed to allow users to closely follow injury trends and customize the information viewed. We will also share lessons learned on underlying causes of falls and free resources to address them, including planning tools, videos, toolbox talks, and more in both English and Spanish.

Jessica Bunting

Director of the Research to Practice Program

The Center for Construction Research and Training

Jessica Bunting, MPH, is the Director of the Research to Practice (r2p) Program at CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training. Jessica has over 15 years of public health experience with more than a decade at CPWR. She and her team work to encourage widespread adoption of evidence-based solutions by construction contractors and workers through improving partnerships between researchers and stakeholders, increasing r2p capacity of intermediary organizations, helping stakeholders influence future research, and developing tools, strategies, and resources to translate and disseminate research findings. Jessica leads CPWR’s efforts on the OSHA-NIOSH-CPWR National Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction and the annual Safety Stand-Down.

Amber Trueblood

Director of the Data Center

The Center for Construction Research and Training

Amber is the Director of the Data Center at CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training. She has over a decade of experience in injury and poisoning prevention. Before coming to CPWR in July 2021 she worked at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute as an Associate Research Scientist in the Crash Analytics Program. She specializes in the use of surveillance data to identify injury and other trends, as well as presenting complex statistics in easy to digest formats.
