 Tim Pickering Founder, President and Chief Investment Officer Auspice Capital Advisors Ltd. Tim leads strategic decision making and the vision for Auspice's diverse suit of rules-based quantitative strategies. He believes that non-correlated alternative investments should be core holdings and viewed as conservative and prudent, given the measurable value added to investment portfolios and he's passionate about creating innovative, cost-effective products that the market needs. Prior to forming Auspice, Tim was VP of Trading at Shell.
In 2015, Tim was selected by Alberta Venture Magazine, one of Alberta's most widely respected business publications, as one of Alberta's 50 most influential people. In 2017, Tim was named to the University of Calgary Accounting and Finance Advisory Council and in 2019 became Chair of the Finance Advisory Council at the Haskayne School of Business.
 Brennan Basnicki Director and Product Specialist, Partner Auspice Capital Advisors Ltd. Brennan joined Auspice Capital Advisors as a Director and Product Specialist in October 2020. He was previously Director at Campbell and Co, a $5bn quantitative investment fund manager, and Investment Officer at the Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois (TRSIL), a $45bn teachers’ pension plan. At TRSIL Brennan managed a $3.5bn absolute return portfolio as well as a separate $3.5bn risk parity portfolio. He was responsible for educating the Board and Investment Committee on potential benefits of CTA and risk mitigating strategies, and led investments of over $1bn into CTAs, quant, and global macro. Prior to joining TRSIL, Brennan was a Proprietary Trader in Toronto.
Brennan earned his Bachelors of Arts in Political Sciences at the University of Western Ontario, and a Master's of Science, with distinction, in Investment Analysis, from the University of Stirling, Scotland. Brennan holds the CFA, CMT, and CAIA charters, and recently completed the Sustainability and Climate Risk (“SCR”) certificate offered by GARP. He is also Director for the Canadian National Day of Service Foundation. An outdoor enthusiast, his spare time is spent skiing, kitesurfing, and paddle-boarding.
 Veronika Popova, CFA Director, ETF Strategist CI Global Asset Management As Director of ETF Strategy, Veronika’s primary responsibility involves working with the various departments within CI GAM to help promote the growth of the ETF business, assisting investors and advisors on ETF education and how to incorporate them into their portfolios. Veronika brings a wealth of ETF knowledge, including product strategy, trading & liquidity, market structure, portfolio development, and has been involved in the launch of several ETFs in the Canadian marketplace. Prior to joining CI GAM, Veronika held roles with global asset managers Vanguard and RBC GAM, where responsibilities included managing primary and secondary market ETF trading, assisting clients with trade execution, and supporting the overall operations of an ETF business. Veronika holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Ryerson University and is a CFA Charterholder.
