Rick Kloeppner is the commercial thermostat product manager for Trane North America. Rick is responsible for managing the both traditional thermostats and developing Trane’s smart thermostats systems. Rick graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science minor in 1991. Rick began his career at TSI Incorporated in roles from design engineer, manufacturing management, engineering management, to product management. Trane started at Trane in 2007 as a product manager for BACnet equipment controls. In 2017 changed his role to focus on a connected building solution for simple light commercial buildings.
Rachel Nilsson

Rachel Nilsson is a Product Manager for Trane Controls based out of St. Paul, MN. Rachel is primarily responsible for controls service tools and mobile apps. Rachel joined Trane in 2009 as a Usability Analyst, doing usability research and user interface design for controls and moved to product management in 2018. Rachel is intensely interested in the relationship between work and technology and finding ways to use technological advances to make our technicians and customers more efficient and effective. Rachel has a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Marcus Ellson

Marcus Ellson is an Applications Engineering Manager for Trane Controls Product Management in St. Paul, MN. Marcus and his team represent customers and technicians as they work directly with engineering teams across the entire controls portfolio. Marcus graduated from the University of Minnesota in Electrical Engineering, and worked in the University facilities management department. Marcus joined Trane in 2008 in Controls Technical Support before joining the product management team in 2010. Marcus is passionate about learning new technologies and bringing those to fruition in Trane’s products. This led Marcus to complete a Masters in Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota in 2016.
