The Global Food Safety Culture Series is designed to help you learn about the regional cultures in which your company operates and how to leverage those unique characteristics to improve your food safety outcomes. The series continues to explore five distinct regions: Europe, Australia, Asia, U.S. and Canada, and Latin America. During five separate webinars, these regional cultures will be explored at a macro level by Lone Jespersen, Ph.D., Cultivate, the impact of these regional cultural differences on food safety will be discussed by 3M Food Safety, and a practical case will be illustrated by a food safety professional at a food company operating in the specific region under study.  Jun Barnes Professional Service 3M Angel “Jun” Barnes Jr. is the professional service for 3M Philippines Food Safety. Before being part of 3M, he was an educator at the Microbiology Division of the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños, for nine years. He also served as the microbiology laboratory manager of Dole Philippines, Inc. in Polomolok, South Cotabato. He transferred to 3M Philippines in 2007 where he started as a professional service analyst for the medical division. Jun obtained a B.Sc. in biology/microbiology from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He also achieved a M.Sc. in microbiology/biochemistry from the same institution.
 Ena Bernal Quality and Food Safety Quality Audit Head Monde Nissin Corporation (MNC) Ena A. Bernal, Ph.D., is the chairman of the Laboratory Accreditation Technical Committee on Biological Testing at the Philippine Accreditation Bureau and the Quality and food safety audit head of Monde Nissin Corporation. She started her career as a research associate at the National Institute of Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, followed by 28 years working in the food industry as a microbiology practitioner and expert on quality and food safety. She received her B.Sc. in biology/microbiology from the University of the Philippines at Los Banos, and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in management from the Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba. She is also a Diplomate in Microbiology from the Industry of the Philippine Academy of Microbiology.
 Lone Jespersen, Ph.D. Founder and Principal Cultivate SA Lone Jespersen, Ph.D., the founder of Cultivate SA, is driven by a passion to eradicate foodborne illness through cultural change. Inspired by a tragic outbreak she experienced early in her career, she has dedicated nearly 20 years to helping organizations worldwide build stronger food safety through organizational culture. She holds a Ph.D. in Culture-Enabled Food Safety from University of Guelph and a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syddansk University. Lone leads her team in developing practical, science-based solutions that turn compliance into lasting business performance. She contributes globally as board member of STOP Foodborne Illness and IFPTI, and is an active contributor to AIFST, GFSI, IAFP, and NZFSSRC. Known for her energy, compassion, and collaborative approach, Lone partners with companies, regulators, and universities to create healthier, more resilient communities—one food safety culture at a time.
 (Moderator) Barbara VanRenterghem, Ph.D. Editorial Director Food Safety Magazine Barbara VanRenterghem, Ph.D., is the editorial director of Food Safety Magazine, a position she has held since 2008. From 2005–2008, she was the chief editor of Controlled Environments Magazine and the science editor of Animal Lab News and Lab Manager Magazine at Vicon Publishing. At Eaton Publishing (1999–2005), she rose from the positions of assistant scientific editor for BioTechniques and acquisitions editor for BioTechniques Press to the editor of content development and acquisitions and director of commercial product development. While at Eaton (then acquired by Informa), she served as the chief editor of Preclinica. She received a B.Sc. in biology in 1989 from Bowling Green State University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1994 from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
