Abstract
Digitizing work instructions is a powerful step toward standardizing processes. However, digitized procedures have limited effectiveness if they are not written clearly. Production operations must be written clearly and concisely to guarantee that every step is performed correctly and efficiently. Join Becca Resnik of Translations by Becca and Bryan Bauw, COO at PICO, as they break down the fundamental elements of usable work instructions, focusing primarily on what information to include in an instruction. Participants will learn how to boil a process down to its key steps, without sacrificing meaningful instruction. Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate what information to include in work instructions.
- Determine the most simplistic way to communicate an instructional statement.
- Learn how to tailor instructions to suit individuals who are not native speakers of English.
