James Peterson is responsible for the strategic direction of for Crystal IS’ products focused on water markets—Klaran for water disinfection and Optan for water quality sensing. He develops business models for UVC emitters and ensures these product lines meet the specific customer needs in water markets. Prior to Crystal IS, he co-founded Vital Vio, a company that designs, engineers and manufactures LED lighting systems that reduce bacteria and other organisms from at-risk environmental surfaces. James was named to the 2016 Forbes 30 under 30 list and has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York.

Hari Venugopalan
Hari Venugopalan is responsible for identifying emerging markets and applications for UVC LEDs. He works closely with customers to understand their evolving needs and determine how UVC LEDs can help address them. Hari has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and product innovation in several clean technologies including strategic marketing efforts in two cleantech startups in energy efficiency and green chemicals. Prior to that, he was a strategy consultant at IBM, advising Fortune 500 companies on business and operations strategy. Prior to IBM, Hari supported LED lamp
technology development for Emcore Corporation’s joint venture with GE Lighting.
Hari holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University and a MBA from New York University.

Rajul Randive
Director of Applications Development
Crystal IS
Rajul Randive is responsible for designing, building and testing various prototype applications that use Crystal IS UVC LEDs. He works closely with customers to develop applications and maps those to engineering requirements that result in a market-ready product. He also ensures test protocols meet customer specifications. With more than 20 years experience with UV application development, he is a frequent industry author and presenter. He is also a voting member on the ASHRAE Committee for “Guidelines for the application of ultraviolet germicidal devices to control the transmission of airborne pathogens.”
