Join the Bloomberg Women's Community on World Menopause Day, as we host a virtual panel discussion on perimenopause and menopause in the workplace. The event aims to raise awareness of these life stages, including what to look out for, and the support available at work and elsewhere. ‌ Moderated by Lizzy Burden, Bloomberg reporter; panelists include Pamela Hutchinson, Bloomberg L.P. Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion; Kate Muir, writer and documentary filmmaker; Jannine Versi, Co-Founder of Elektra Health and Dr. Bella Smith, women's health specialist & Co-founder of Well HQ.


Kate Muir

Writer and documentary maker

Kate Muir is a writer and documentary producer. She recently made Davina McCall: Sex, Lies and the Menopause for Channel 4, and her new book Everything You Need to Know About the Menopause (but were too afraid to ask) is out in January. She is also an activist for The Menopause Charity. Previously, she was Chief Film Critic of The Times. 

Dr Bella Smith

Over 20 years an NHS GP, practice partner Dr Bella Smith is a women’s health advocate and an ambassador for The Eve Appeal. Under her moniker ‘The Digital GP’, Bella is a long-time media consultant, adding insight and opinion on women’s medical issues, the entrenched and harmful taboos in women’s health discourse, and reproductive health and wellbeing.

Pamela Hutchinson

Pamela is the Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Bloomberg. In this role, she leads the company’s global diversity and inclusion initiatives around the world whilst establishing strategic direction, goals and accountability. Pamela is cited as one of the most visible and vocal thought leaders and advocates for diversity across the private sector and has more than 20 years’ experience in managing diversity across engineering, financial services, technology and media. Pamela has worked at firms including Barclay’s, Bechtel Ltd, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Northern Trust and has been instrumental in firmly establishing ethnic diversity as an imperative across the City, whilst being a visible and vocal campaigner for equality. Pamela was recognised in the Top 50 Part Time Power List 2014, was a finalist in the Financial Services Leader category at the inaugural Black British Business Awards 2014, and was a finalist in the European Diversity Awards 2013 in the “Inspirational Role Model of the Year” category. In addition, Pamela has been featured in every Powerlist since 2017, was awarded Head of Diversity of the Year in the 2016 European Diversity Awards, and was featured in the 2016 & 2017 Global Diversity List Top 50 Diversity Professionals. In 2020, Pamela was honored as “Gender Equality/Diversity Professional of the Year” in WatersTechnology’s Women in Technology and Data Awards and was listed in the Top 20 Diversity Professionals in Industry on the Global Diversity List in both 2020 & 2021. In 2021, Pamela was also included on the Cranfield School of Management’s 100 Women to Watch, a supplement to its annual Female FTSE Board Report that identifies leading female professionals available for and ideally suited to positions on the boards of FTSE 350 companies now or in the near future.

Lizzy Burden

Lizzy Burden is a reporter at Bloomberg. She covers the UK economy, writes the weekly Beyond Brexit newsletter and contributes to Bloomberg TV, radio, podcasts and Quicktake, the social media channel. Lizzy is a regular guest on the BBC, Sky News and Times Radio, and hosts events, including for the Confederation of British Industry and the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Listed as one of MHP's 30 under 30 journalists for her city and business coverage, previously she was an economics reporter at The Telegraph, a graduate trainee at The Times, presented CoronaNomics TV and produced BBC Daily Politics. Before journalism, Lizzy was a fashion model across five continents for eight years. While living in New York, she assisted in the production of documentary films for the likes of National Geographic and PBS. She graduated in History from the University of Cambridge.

Jannine Versi

Jannine is the co-founder and COO of Elektra Health, an innovative women's health startup on a mission to smash the menopause taboo. Elektra empowers women navigating menopause with evidence-based virtual care, education & community. Jannine has spent her career in healthcare, tech, and government, including roles at Cityblock Health and Google, and in the Obama Administration and White House. She's an alumna of UPenn and Harvard Business School, and was a Fulbright Scholar. Jannine is also a 2021 Blavatnik Fellow at Harvard Business School.
