On Demand Until June 16, 2022
Abstract:
2020 was a standout year for the snack industry. Snacking surged with increased at-home occasions. Certain snack categories exploded as consumers were less mobile, while other categories struggled. Now, as we are becoming more mobile, consumers will begin to have occasions in and out of home again. What does the future look like for snack consumption in 2021? Did consumers abandon health and wellness in their quests to cope (is the "COVID 15" weight gain really a thing?), or did concerns over the virus urge more consumers to embrace healthier food products? During this webinar, IRI’s resident snacking expert, Sally Lyons Wyatt, will take a closer look at which snacking trends will persist or change this year and discuss the most effective snacking strategies for a post-COVID society:
- How consumer snack choices play a role in their diets, such as keto, paleo, etc.
- Functional and nutritional benefits—gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based—that appeal to consumers
- New snacking innovations that are resonating with consumers
