Abstract:

With a possible rise in federal infrastructure spending on the horizon, many in the contracting and consulting community are gearing up for a new surge in public construction. But new data requirements, cybersecurity threats and other factors could impact delivery of these projects. ENR will talk to some of the experts in how best to navigate the increasingly digital world of federal and state projects, and work effectively in a more collaborative data-management environment.

Peter has been an information technology leader and change agent in various industries for 20 years, the last 7 of which at Granite Construction leading and directing, in addition to the Cybersecurity Department, Granite’s IT Architecture and Data Strategy. Within the Cybersecurity space Peter and his team see tremendous opportunity to provide Granite not only with a more secure technical ecosystem but also with leverage to accelerate the qualification process for incoming Federal work. In this webinar Peter will share Granite’s cybersecurity journey including how Granite IT is addressing new CMMC certification process and timeline

Mike Tooley

Senior Director of Industry Strategy

Aurigo

Michael Tooley, former Director of the Montana Department of Transportation, is Senior Director of Industry Strategy. Tooley works to lead Aurigo’s transportation strategy and strengthen the firm’s penetration into the state and local transportation marketplace.

Tooley led Montana’s DOT for 8 years, being appointed by Governor Steve Bullock and confirmed by the Montana Senate in 2013. He served in that role until the end of Governor Bullock’s term in 2020. During his tenure, transportation safety was a major focus for the DOT and the state reduced serious injury and fatal crashes by 35% under his leadership. Another interest of Tooley’s is the modernization of DOT internal infrastructure, making transportation programs more efficient and effective.

Tooley brings decades of public sector leadership to the Aurigo team. Prior to his position at the Montana DOT, Tooley ran the state’s Highway Patrol division, and has also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve force. He is a graduate of Grand Canyon University and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. In his new role, Tooley will focus on building relationships with executives managing some of the largest capital programs in North America, including at departments of transportation, public works agencies, and water and wastewater authorities.

Brian Wienke

Product Marketing Director for Public Sector

Oracle Construction and Engineering

Brian Wienke is a Product Marketing Director for Public Sector within the Oracle Construction and Engineering global business unit. Brian spent 15 years in Product Management in the civic-tech space, delivering cloud-based community development and regulation and asset management software for state and local agencies around the globe. After moving from the San Francisco Bay area to Southern California, Brian was a group product manager at a large construction project management software company, and more recently head of product at a construction data analytics start up. Today, Brian is focused on highlighting how Oracle Construction and Engineering products provide unique value and solve challenges public sector customers face.
