Columbia University’s Jerome L. Greene Science Center 
The 9-story, 457,000 square foot Jerome L. Greene Science Center, home to the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, reinforces and expands Columbia’s role as an international leader in neuroscience education and research. The structure, the first building to rise on the 17-acre Manhattanville site, is the largest research building that Columbia has ever built and the biggest academic science building in NYC.

Panel 2: A Hospital Goes All-in for AI 
Mount Sinai Health System Artificial Intelligence and Human Health Research Facility 
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) intends to renovate 3 East 101st Street, the former Nurses Residence Hall built in 1963, into a state-of-the-art dry-laboratory research facility. Mount Sinai intends to use this new state-of-the-art building to facilitate the recruitment of new faculty and help establish ISMMS as a leader in Biomedical Research and patient care.

Panel 3: Vaccine Manufacturing Gets Lean
Merck & Co. B46 Vaccine Expansion & FLEX Facility 
The Merck B46 Vaccine Expansion project is a renovation of approximately 104,405 square feet of existing vivarium, support and mechanical areas into a new state-of-the-art flexible lab and office facility to support the commercial viability assessment of the new drug campaigns. These new flex labs will co-locate research and manufacturing groups for development and analytical functions to enable future collaboration of operations, which will increase the speed of product development to reduce time to clinical trials.  

The new Formulation and Laboratory Experimentation (FLEx) Facility is a multi-product facility designed to support product development and clinical supply execution for both human and animal health. This new space will offer a state-of-the-art research and development center that will transform drug product and analytical development to Merck.

Panel 4: Production Facility Construction Goes Hi-Tech
Pfizer Plasmid DNA – Suites GH 
The Pfizer Plasmids – Suites GH Project was a full gut/rebuild of existing pharmaceutical manufacturing suites located within a 1974 building, originally constructed for lab/office use. It is now one of the world’s largest Plasmids Production Facility used to support the manufacture of a proposed therapy for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and COVID-19 vaccine.

Panel 5: Research & Data Takes Center Stage
Bristol-Myers Squibb Modules M&N + Celgene’s Summit West S5 Data Center 
The BMS Modules M&N project included the construction of two new research and development buildings located on the Lawrenceville, NJ campus. There are connectors at the basement and ground floor levels of the new buildings to the existing campus buildings to provide uninterrupted circulation flow. Module M includes chemistry and biology laboratories with associated offices and a dedicated mechanical space in the basement. Lead Discovery and Optimization (LDO) occupies Module N.  

Celgene Data Center project included the renovation of 3,000 square feet of the first floor and basement space of on the BMS Summit West building. It involved a complete interior renovation with associated demolition abatement of a legacy shop area to new Tier III (2N) supported data room with dedicated and diverse electrical and mechanical infrastructure interior and exterior to the building beyond the stated project area, computer room and campus data cabling.
