Dr. Timothy Dellit was appointed chief medical officer of UW Medicine in 2019. In this role he provides executive leadership and strategic guidance for the integration of clinical practice with education and research activities across all UW Medicine sites of practice and leads initiatives to improve the quality of care and clinical practice transformation as UW Medicine strives to achieve the quadruple aim of of providing high quality care in patient experience, improving the health for the population we serve, reducing healthcare costs, and improving the clinical environment and support for our clinicians. Since 2016, Dr. Dellit has served as president of UW Physicians faculty practice plan overseeing the clinical business operations of the largest medical practice group in Washington State.
Richard Hughes IV, JD, MPH

Richard Hughes IV, JD, MPH, is Vice President of Public Policy at Moderna. Throughout his career, Richard has led many efforts to expand access to vaccines and preventive services and improve public health outcomes.
Previously, Richard was managing director at Avalere Health, where he founded and led the firm’s vaccines group. Prior to joining Avalere, Hughes practiced healthcare law and served as a strategic advisor at Epstein, Becker and Green. He previously held roles with Merck and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and as a gubernatorial appointee to the Arkansas State Board of Health.
Hughes previously held an academic faculty appointment as a professorial lecturer in health policy and management at the George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health. He earned his JD from the George Washington University Law School and MPH from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. During law school, he proudly served as research assistant to renowned health law and vaccines scholar Professor Sara Rosenbaum. He is a member of the National Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health and the District of Columbia Bar.
