John holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. He has since spent over 25 years specializing in medical and industrial imaging technology. He began his career as a Production Engineer, then worked as an Automation Engineer, Applications Engineer, Operations Manager and then as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a machine vision systems company. In 2009, John started Sightline with a mission to change the way people think about vision systems and automated inspection. His mission was to create a better, more affordable inspection system that was not another proprietary ‘black box’. This approach has proven successful: Sightline has now installed systems into some of the largest manufacturing facilities in the world, serving some of the world’s top foodservice brands.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering) for the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, ON. He has nearly 5 years of experience in the industrial vision inspection field. Jon began his career with Sightline as a Mechanical Designer, before moving into an Applications Engineer role. Jon is currently Applications Engineering Manager at Sightline. In this role, he uses his technical knowledge to provide vision system solutions to new customers, and support and expand the use of the technology by existing customers. Jon has been personally involved in several complex and cutting-edge projects with major manufacturers. He enjoys introducing new customers to vision inspection technology and demonstrating how automated inspection can be applied to different industries.
