Michael Power
Global MES Manager, Glanbia Plc
Michael Power is Global MES Manager at Glanbia Plc. Michael has more than 20 years’ experience across both Automation and IT. Prior to Joining Glanbia Michael worked in industries from broadcasting to Hydroelectric power generation, to Optical Lens manufacture. In Glanbia he has held the position of Group Networks and Communications manager changing focus in more recent years to heading up the Global MES function within the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. Michael has qualifications in Electrical Engineering from the Dublin Institute of technology and a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
Mark-John Bruwer
Product Management Director, Aspen Technologies
Mark-John Bruwer is a chemical engineer who began his career in the 1990’s in the Asia Pacific region, firstly in a process engineering role and later implementing advanced process control systems for clients of Pavilion Technologies. In the 2000’s Mark-John pursued his PhD in control engineering and advanced statistical modeling under Dr. John F. MacGregor, who is world renowned in this field. In 2007 Mark-John joined ProSensus, a startup spun out of the McMaster Advanced Control Consortium to commercialize this technology. He helped grow the company from startup to the point where Aspen Technology bought out the key technology in late 2016. As the CTO & VP at ProSensus Mark-John led technology development and customer engagement for the ProMV product suite. Following the acquisition, Mark-John is leading the continuing development and dissemination of this technology in his role as a product management director at AspenTech.
