Abstract:
Sugar reduction has and will continue to be a big buzzword for the dairy industry moving forward. Consumers increasingly demand these products, according to experts. This webinar will discuss how to solve challenges regarding formulating reduced-sugar products that also taste great, plus much more. Learning Objectives:

- Learn how to overcome the reduced-sugar formulation challenges
- Learn about the importance of the school channel, how sugar reduction has evolved during the last decade, plus new regulations that could be put in place.
Speakers
 Michelle Albee Matto, MPH, RDN Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition International Dairy Foods Association Michelle Albee Matto is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with expertise in the areas of dairy food labeling, food regulation and nutrition policy. As Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition at the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), her work focuses on dairy product standards of identity, food labeling and regulations, federal nutrition programs, and federal dietary guidance, including the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Prior to her current position, Michelle was Principal at AM Food & Nutrition, and coordinated responses to federal rulemaking on food regulations and federal nutrition programs, presented on a variety of topics related to food regulation and nutrition policies, and advised food manufacturers on labeling requirements.
Michelle has also worked at the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) in Washington, DC. She earned her BS in Nutrition at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and her Master of Public Health degree in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Michelle is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Society for Nutrition and is a past board member of the DC chapters of both the Institute of Food Technologists and the Society for Nutrition Education.
 Katie Bambacht, RDN, LDN, SNS Vice President School Nutrition National Dairy Council Katie Bambacht is Vice President of School Nutrition for National Dairy Council (NDC). Katie has been with the dairy community since 2016 and is a registered dietitian/nutritionist and credentialed school nutrition specialist. She has worked as an expert in Child Nutrition Programs for over a decade – starting with Chartwells-Thompson Hospitality servicing over 450 Chicago Public Schools followed by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago coordinating the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Katie manages collaborative efforts with the School Nutrition Association, Food Research Action Center and supports activations with USDA FNS. She also serves as a resource to the dairy community on school feeding programs and school nutrition. Katie has a Bachelor of Applied Health Science from Indiana University and completed her dietetic internship at Loyola University Chicago.
 John Crawford Vice President, Client Insights-Dairy IRI John Crawford is a leader in the Dairy Vertical for IRI as VP of Client Insights-Dairy. He leads the relationship for a number of IRI’s top Dairy Clients including the Dairy Industry Associations. John and his team have developed an industry-leading Dairy Thought Leadership program. John also leads the engagement with Dairy industry associations.
John joined IRI in 2014 focusing on Protein where he led the relationships for a number of meat clients. John is a seasoned CPG marketer with over 22 years of industry experience. John’s career encompasses an extensive combination of marketing leadership, innovation, new product development, market research, client service, and category management.
Prior to joining IRI, John led marketing for Crystal Farms, the Retail Division of Michael Foods, growing the Crystal Farms®, Simply Potatoes®, and AllWhites® brands. John also led the Innovation efforts at Michael Foods developing new products for Retail, Foodservice, and Food Ingredients.
Prior to joining Michael Foods, John held positions in marketing, new products, customer information, and category management at Land O’Lakes.
Earlier in his career, John was a Client Service Manager for Spectra Marketing onsite at Pillsbury and a Category Manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises in Southern California with a stint onsite at Ralph’s Grocery Company.
