Her passion is to drive product development that delivers to sustainable and nutritious food for the better health of all people. Kathy has been working at the Kraft Heinz company for 10 years. During this time she has been leading the Nutrition and Health agenda for the company of which salt and sugar reduction have been a large part of her role. During her time at Kraft Heinz she has worked on both innovation and reformulation of products with a better health portfolio for iconic Heinz brands for Beans, Soups and Tomato Ketchup.

Rianne Ruijschop is Group Leader at NIZOs Food Department. Together with a multidisciplinary team of highly-qualified scientists, experts and project managers, Rianne works with global food and ingredient companies to drive solutions, from ingredient functionality to product application. Rianne studied food technology at Wageningen University and joined NIZO in 2003 holding various functions. Parallel to project management activities she obtained a PhD in Flavour & Satiation in 2009.

Since 2012, Sebastian represents as Director General of ESA over 200 members coming from the manufacturing and supplying side as well as national trade associations. In his daily work he ensures that members’ interests are considered in the European policy-making process. His main objective is to increase the understanding and promotion of the savoury snacks sector through collaboration with policymakers, opinion leaders, NGOs and media. Sebastian chairs FoodDrinkEurope’s (European FDF) Nutrition and Health Working Group as well as the Food Taxation Taskforce.

Action on Salt

Sonia is Public Health Nutritionist and Campaign Manager for charity Action on Salt. Prior to working for Action on Salt, Sonia was Senior Nutritionist at Leatherhead Food Research, providing nutritional advice and research assistance to the food industry. Sonia is now responsible for managing Action on Salt’s campaigns and raising awareness of the importance of a lower salt diet to public health, focussing her efforts on the food industry and government.
