Managing Origination Costs: Reimagining the Community Bank Mortgage Model to Fuel Growth

Start Date:6/22/2022

Start Time:2:00 PM EDT

Duration:60 minutes

Abstract:

With the average cost to originate a mortgage reaching all-time highs and per-loan profitability nearing record lows, community banks find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, current conditions and lingering operational challenges have cost control topping their growing list of concerns. On the other, purchase originations are expected to hit record highs in 2022 and 2023, opening the door for customer acquisition and long-term growth. How can community banks position themselves to compete in the current market while controlling costs and increasing profitability?

During this session, we’ll dissect the true all-in costs of the community bank mortgage model —identifying areas where the most significant cost-saving potential exists and discussing practical solutions for enhancing residential lending profitability.
