Melding Minds and Machines--Learn the New Language of Industrial Communication

Despite industry wide excitement around the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the convergence of IT and operational technology (OT) systems, there remains a persistent gap between existing OT systems (SCADA, DCS, ICS, etc.) and available IIoT technologies. The gap between OT and IT spans many levels including the basic vernacular used to describe overall infrastructures, data representations, security, and deep understanding of existing device protocols and the applications that speak these protocols. In this webinar, we’ll discuss the need for both technology suppliers and users to develop migration strategies that allow legacy systems to participate in the IIoT.
Chris Misztur is an information technology professional with 15 years’ experience delivering solutions that are bug-free and enjoyable to use by developers and end-customers. His work includes middleware software components, data integrations, and complete Web and mobile solutions. In his role as developer, software architect and IIoT evangelist at MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, he is involved with generating micro-architectures to maximize developer agility, replacing legacy architectures with modern technology and leading machinery and hardware integration efforts.
Enrique Herrera, who joined OSIsoft in 2013, is based in San Leandro, Calif. As a market principal covering the Internet of Things, he works with customers to drive operational intelligence across their enterprise. Herrera has extensive experience with sensor/operational data collection, storage and integration best practices. He brings more than 25 years of engineering experience from the automotive OEM perspective (Ford and Jaguar) and as a Tier 1 supplier (Visteon Corp.). Herrera has cross-functional experiences with powertrain design, manufacturing operations and information technology. He has also served as a senior business strategy architect on the Microsoft Enterprise Consulting Services team. Herrera holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master of science degree in advanced automotive engineering from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.
