Lawrence Chong

Based in Hong Kong, Lawrence leads the overall development and strategy formulation of insurance vertical (including life and non-life re/insurance) for TransUnion’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Prior to joining TransUnion in 2020, he founded his InsurTech startup which was named as part of the HK FinTech Map by InvestHK. His startup was also a graduate of the Cyberport Incubation Programme. Lawrence worked for various top-tiered multinational (re)insurance companies, including Swiss Re, RSA, AIG and Chubb, for more than 14 years before his entrepreneurship.
He has been appointed as a FinTech Task Force Member of Insurance Authority and Club 2028 Committee Member of Hong Kong Federation of Insurers for numerous years.
Lawrence completed the Executive Program in BlockChain and Cybersecurity from MIT. He was graduated from Macquarie University and HKUST with Master Degree in Business and Bachelor Degree in Science respectively. He invented a patent-granted technology and co-authored a best-selling book in the city.
