Fabian Smith Global Product Safety and Quality Leader Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain In his more than 15 years at Cargill, Fabian has worked in various plant and corporate roles in engineering, plant operations, SAP implementation, food safety and quality, supplier quality management, and audit and certification management. More recently, he led the development and execution of a three-year strategy to advance Cargill’s global supplier quality management and its internal audit processes and structure. Before Cargill, Fabian spent 11 years in the electronic communication manufacturing and medical devices industries, where he led the development, implementation, and optimization of several quality management processes. He earned a B.S. degree in chemical engineering and a graduate certificate in biomedical engineering from the University of South Florida. Fabian also earned an M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University. Fabian’s audit experience covers BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14971, and SQF. He has extensive experience in auditing and developing small-scale to large, multi-national suppliers across the globe.
Genevieve Taft-Vazquez Sr. Director, Responsible Sourcing and Human Rights Governance The Coca-Cola Company Genevieve Taft-Vazquez is Senior Director for Responsible Sourcing and Human Rights Governance at The Coca-Cola Company. Genevieve has been with Coca-Cola for over a decade. In her role, she provides governance, strategy, and policy support for sustainable sourcing due diligence in the supply chain. She works with peer companies to develop collaborative approaches to systemic challenges related to sustainability and responsible sourcing and works closely with external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities. Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Genevieve worked primarily in the apparel industry. She worked at Gap Inc. and subsequently spent time in Bolivia with a fair-trade artisan organization to improve operational capacity and to develop market opportunities abroad. After that, she joined the Fair Labor Association, a nonprofit that works with multinational apparel brands to improve social and environmental performance in supply chains. She completed a dual degree at Wharton and Johns Hopkins SAIS and her undergraduate studies at Yale University.
Kimberly Coffin Global Technical Director - Supply Chain Assurance LRQA Kimberly is passionate about helping global food businesses understand, manage, and mitigate the risks to their products and brands. She has built her reputation as a thought leader in food safety and supply chain risk through more than 30 years of deep-domain food sector expertise, working for and with leading global food companies and associated service organizations across major world markets. Kimberly has extensive experience as a technical professional specializing in design, development, implementation, assessment, and training within the arena of retail agri-food risk management systems, specifically relating to auditing principles and more broadly to the control of food safety, product quality, authenticity, and legality.
Adrienne Blume, M.A. (Moderator) Editorial Director Food Safety Magazine Adrienne Blume is Editorial Director of Food Safety Magazine, a BNP Media brand. She has 18+ years of experience in B2B technical media, including the food safety and quality (FSQ) and energy technology sectors. She manages the editorial content for Food Safety Magazine and its podcast, Food Safety Matters, and also serves on the Educational Advisory Board for the annual Food Safety Summit. She keeps a pulse on trends, issues, and regulatory developments in FSQA by attending and moderating sessions at food industry and food safety conferences worldwide.
Previously in her career, Ms. Blume launched and led two energy technology publications (H2Tech and Gas Processing & LNG) and a podcast (H2TechTalk) as Editor-in-Chief at Gulf Energy Information in Houston, Texas. She also worked as Managing Editor at Hydrocarbon Publishing Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She speaks and moderates at technical conferences around the world and is published in several industry journals. Ms. Blume holds an M.A. degree in English and Publishing from Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, as well as B.A. degrees (hons) in English and Anthropology from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
